Information about the spastic-app

What are the advantages for the patient to use the spastic-app?
The measures in the management of a spastic movement disorder depend on the distribution pattern of the spastic movement disorder (SMD) over the body and the severity of the spastic tone increase and other positive signs of the upper moto neuron syndrome (UMNS).

The spastic-app is based on the principle of a questionnaire using the traffic light principle. The patient answers 10 questions at regular intervals (ideally weekly). The spastic-app determines from this whether there has been a change in the state of health and whether spasticity could develop.

Depending on the test result, the patient is advised to contact their family doctor, neurologist or physiotherapist.

This app supports patients after a stroke and helps them to watch out for early signs of spasticity that may be developing.
Improving care management after a stroke.

Optimization of care for stroke patients through regular use of the spastic-app.

The aim is to guide the patient to the appropriate level of care in good time if the condition deteriorates.

The following information about the stroke should be entered into the spastic-app with the help of the doctor (the nursing staff, the physiotherapist or the relatives).

  1. Infarct size _____ml

  2. Degree of disability:
    Modified Rankin scale

Explanation of the spasticity app

The doctor, the nursing staff, the physiotherapist or the relatives explain to the patient the importance of the spastic-app.

The patient is then registered. For this purpose, the contact details of the patient, as well as the details of the family doctor, physiotherapist or neurologist are required.

After successful registration and activation, your patient can use the spastic-app.

The patient should answer the questionnaire with 10 questions once a week.
